I learn more from my mistakes
I had a small setback. I wanted a more permanent prototype than the breadboard. My dad purchased a Raspberry PI prototyping hat. With this I can solder my components down for a more permanent prototype. The hat I used wouldn't work after I soldered the parts to the board. The test LED I programmed wouldn’t blink. I troubleshot it using a multimeter. I “buzzed out” the board by testing for continuity from every connection to every other connection. I found out that there were shorts between pins on the board where they were not supposed to be connected. The hat was defective. To be truthful, I am not sure if somehow it was caused by poor soldering. Dad bought a new prototyping hat and it should arrive soon. I hope the Raspberry PI was not damaged. There is a parts shortage right now and they are not in supply on any of the websites. I did get practice soldering components and desoldering components.
